In Cambodia, activities around country picked up the pace during GCE’s Global Action Week, 23rd - 29th April. The activities culminated into the National Big Hearing which took place on the 26th April at the Hun Sen’s Conference Hall of the National Institute for Education, Phnom Penh starting from 7:30 am - 11:00 am.
Around two thousand children, students, and representatives from national and international governmental and non-governmental organization stood side-by-side for education rights. Messages from nine municipalities and provinces in Cambodia demanding “Education is a Basic Human Right!” were passed along the human chain to H.E. IM SETHY, Secretary of State for Education, Youth and Sport who will preside over the ceremony on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
