Summary:
Global Action Week in Macedonia
Campaigners in 32 towns in Macedonia’s (including the major city of Macedonia) will take part in GAW 2007. During the Action Week, pupils from all primary schools in Macedonia are going to prepare dossiers of artworks, songs and essay on the theme: Education is important…, Send my peer to school. My friend is out of school...
Also a TV spot is prepared (three languages) and distributed for broadcasting trough the media (national and local TV channels).
On April 25th, a group of children (members of the First Children Embassy in the World – Megjashi) visited the President of the Republic of Macedonia as well as Vice President of the Parliament office.
Last information is that the Prime Minister of Republic of Macedonia Mr. Nikola Gruevski confirmed to join the chain for the campaign as well as to sign guarantee for improvement of the educational system in Macedonia. Also, we received confirmations from Mr. Petar Stojanovski – State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Mr. Dusko Avramovski – State Councilor at the Ministry for Social Policy and Labor.
On April 27th at 11:55am pupils from different schools in Skopje (major city of Macedonia) will Join for the life chain forming. Same activity will be repeated at the city squares of Tetovo, Kumanovo and Veles and this happening will be recorded from a helicopter while at the same time leaflets will dropped on the squares were the campaigners will be forming the chains.
We expect more than 5,000 pupils to join the chain in Macedonia.
