Malawi: shortfalls in educating orphans and vulnerable children |

5th October: This article in the Southern Times highlights the challenges facing orphans and other vulnerable children in Malawi. This include rising incidences of stigma and discrimination and inadequate fund allocation for OVC activities in relation to the OVC population, especially in access to education. Despite government declaring free primary education for all children in 1994 the introduction of user fees is forcing more and more children out of school.
