What happened in Action Week 2008? Action Aid, Aid et Action, ChildFund, Oxfam, Plan, Supported by the Global Action Week Coalition this year, Vietnam saw a greater involvement of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) resulting in over three million participants throughout the country!
The National Event was held at Thang Long Lower Secondary School and was attended by MOET's Vice Minister Nguyen Vinh Hien, representatives from the National Assembly and other Government Offices, representatives from international organisations including the UN and international and local NGOs.
The students' creativity and initiative in preparation and performance in the Biggest Lesson were remarkable, and highly appreciated by the invited guests. The presence of National and Hanoi media including television and many newspapers brought extensive coverage for the event. A documentary on Action Week was produced and shown on different TV channels.
What happened in Action Week 2007?
Throughout the week thousands of children across the country took part in Action Week events, and presented to officials from the Ministry of Education including a Vice Minister of Education.
The highlight of the week was a national forum which was held to bring attention to the disadvantaged children, ethnic minorities, and the issue of HIV/AIDS in education.
