What's happening in 2008:

School events are being organised in at least 4 regions, with local authorise celebrities opinion leaders and media being asked to attend. It is hoped that these events will both increase awareness and agreements on free quality education. The World's Biggest Lesson will take place in:
  • Quindío: Quimbaya, Montengro, Circasia, and possibly Armenia. FLFV will coordinate it and we will try to integrate Fundación Alma Mater in Pereira and the co-organization of Viva la Ciudadanía en Armenia.
  • Costa Atlántica: Cartagena and Santa Marta, with the coordination of Universidad Tecnológica del Bolivar and Fundación Tierra y Esperanza.
  • Antioquia: Medellin and a municipality of rural characteristics. The coordinators are Corporación Región and CEDECIS.
  • Región Cundiboyacense: Soacha, Funza and Bogotá. The coordinator will be the Technical Secretariat of the Coalition with the support of the organizations in Bogota. Also, depending on the possibilities of Viva la Ciudadanía and their co-organizations, other municipalities from the region and the country could be included.

What happened in 2007?

A special forum was held between children, young people and the Senate and Senators from the Education Commission. Included in those attended was Leon Brillith Serrano Mallely, who later travelled to Washington and Brussels to present her wishes of free education for everyone to donor officials. The forum ended with a huge long human chain being formed in front of the National Capital Building.
