GCE seeks 3 new positions

The Global Campaign for Education (GCE), promotes education as a basic human right, and mobilizes public pressure on governments and the international community to fulfill their promises to provide free, compulsory public basic education for all people. We are seeking knowledgeable and dynamic personalities to staff our new Civil Society Education Funds (CSEF) project. Be part of it by joining our team:
1. Global Accountant-Civil Society Education Fund (CSEF)
The CSEF Global Accountant will make a vital contribution to foster the growth of education-focused civil society coalitions in developing countries: Working with the CSEF project team, he/she will ensure that project funds are prudently managed, that expenditures and activities are well documented and that internal procedures and controls are in compliance with the regulations and restrictions of the Global Campaign For Education and the Fast Track Initiative’s (FTI) Education Programme Development Fund (EPDF).
Minimum educational requirement is a university degree in Accountancy, Finance or Business administration, with experience in major project accounting and budget administration, with a five year practical work.

2. Project Officer-National Civil Society Education Fund (NCSEF)
The Project Officer-NCSEF will lead the research, design and implementation process of the national CSEF Pilot phase in 5 countries, test the viability of establishing National CSEF, liaising with Pilot countries and the regional implementing partners, as well as managing the learning process to draw out learning from the pilot, build an evidence base on the effectiveness of the approaches used and help promote the conclusions at the end of the regional CSEF project cycle.
Minimum educational requirement is a university degree in social sciences, development studies, education development or equivalent, with at least 3 years experience in action research.

3. Project Administrator - Civil Society Education Fund (CSEF)
The Project Administrator will support the CSEF Global Co-coordinator to run the project efficiently by providing all the necessary project management and administrative support including: a good understanding of contractual obligations of partners; helping to benchmark progress, communicating project deadlines, managing the project information system and dealing with general coordination to ensure adherence to established systems and procedure.
Minimum educational requirement is a university degree, with 2 years previous experience of providing administrative support/management to projects or programs.

Salary: Competitive offer for all positions, depending on experience
Contract Length: Until 31st June 2011 for all positions, with possibility for a further 1 year extension, subject to funding availability.
