What happened in Action Week 2008? On 23rd April, schools throughout Albania took part in the World's Biggest Lesson. Approximately 13,000 children and teachers enrolled in the campaign. Combining fun and learning, a football match between students and Members of Parliament in Tirana, raised awareness and gave the politicians an opportunity to show support for the campaign for education.
The Vice Prime-minister of Albania, Mr. Gazmend Oketa, attending the campaign activities stated that the Government will continue to increase the budget for education. The Coalition of NGO’s organised a joint-press conference with several well-known television personalities, who asked publicly for politicians to improve child education. There was also a national meeting on quality education between teachers, trade union representatives, children, parents and representatives of the Ministry of Education of Albania, and Educational Authorities in districts.

What happened in Action Week 2007? A press conference got the news out about Action Week, ahead of the events. Throughout the week more than 12,000 children formed human chains and asked the government to do more for children’s education in Albania.
Student representatives held meetings with leaders, teachers, and community members. In meetings with government members, students presented their concerns and offered their collaboration in resolving some problems. More young people took part in drawing pictures of ‘The school of my dreams’, the pictures were later exhibited and entered into a national competition. The education coalition asked Members of the Albanian Parliament to sign a letter on education called ‘I PROMISE’ and to visit at least one school in their own constituency. Finally a national workshop was held on ‘A friendly school for every child’, which raised awareness of the government, politicians and public on safe and adequate school conditions for girls and children from vulnerable groups.
