What happened in Action Week 2008? The GCE Cambodia coalition hosted ‘My Day of Education.’ The event brought teachers, students and their families and friends from six universities together at the Olympic stadium to be entertained by activities surrounding education. Across the country, local leaders and parents went ‘Back to School’ and took part the World’s Biggest Lesson. Communities learned about how to identify and challenge exclusions in education. Information about the World’s Biggest Lesson was disseminated to the public using all forms of media, including television appearances and radio. A Radio Talk Show kept people informed of the events and the issues. It was aired during Action Week on Cambodia’s Women Media Centre Radio, Family Radio, the voice of civil society program, and Absara radio.
What happened in Action Week 2007?
Actions culminated in a big National Hearing which took place at the National Institute for Education in Phnom Penh. 2,000 children, students, and government representatives came together and discussed Education as a Human Right before standing side-by-side in a human chain. Messages from the children were passed along the chain to the Secretary of State for Education,
