WOZA protests on state of education in Zimbabwe

Feb 2010 Nearly 1000 members of Women and Men of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) began a peaceful protest in Bulawayo on 13 January to hand over the WOZA report on the education system in Zimbabwe entitled 'Looking Back to look Forward'.

To the Mhlahlandlela Government, Pambazuka news has reported. However, the police dispersed the group before they were able to hand over the document. The report covers recommendations and a list of demands that parents want addressed by the Minister of Education, Senator David Coltart. It includes demands for quality teaching, more discipline in schools, 
no more teacher demands for top-ups from parents, a new and relevant curriculum and reasonable fees. For the full story
