"Whether in Africa or America, we know that education equals a future and freedom from poverty," said Michelle Dixon, Campaign Advisor with GCE. "It's investing in the potential of people to live healthy lives, transform their futures and contribute to their communities. This is an opportunity for America to both lead in that fight and leverage commitments from other nations."

"Today, 75 million children are still out of school, most of them girls, and we need another 18 million teachers by 2015," said Kailash Satyarthi, GCE President "This commitment would be a significant step towards America honoring its commitments to achieve education for all-ensuring that every one of the world's children will be able to go to school."
