What happened in Action Week 2009? DCI-Mauritius together with its partner organizations brought along learners of the Basic Education To Adolescents (BETA) program and their parents to take part in the Big Read on Saturday 25th April. Activities were conducted where parents and guests followed the Big Read and the progress of marginalized adolescents. These were attended by national tav stations and other journalists.
What happened in Action Week 2008? Mauritius began preparation for the World’s Biggest Lesson by sensitizing schools for their meetings with their municipal councilors. The big event in Mauritius was centered on the issue of raising awareness for education to marginalized adolescents.
These children joined MPs, community leaders and religious leaders and held a rally. Young people, their parents, community leaders including religious people and a few MPs' were asked to walk for the cause of education for this category of young people.
Basic Education To Adolescents (BETA Programme) schools were targeted. The event was attended by approximately 1,000 people.
