What happened in Action Week 2008?
The Teacher Creativity Centre mobilised Thousands of students, politicians and concerned parties participated in the activities of the World’s Biggest Lesson. The lesson was conducted in 100 Palestinian schools in Ramallah-Maa’n. Students played the role of teacher and discussed challenges in the education system to government officials, media representatives and other community members. These challenges included student drop outs, early marriages, illiteracy of parents, unqualified teachers, the high student to teacher ratio, and the economic difficulty and its impact on drop-out rates, students called for the education sector to work on improving the size and conditions of the classrooms and increasing access to more computers. Some students further illustrated the point by performing a skit on child labour.
