Education for All: how YOU can help
The Global Campaign for Education works in over 100 countries worldwide to achieve Education for All. We believe that quality education holds the key to unlocking the future for millions across developing countries, but right now 67 million children and 759 million adults are missing out.
Just over 10 years ago, world leaders and governments adopted a set of targets to make decent quality education available to all by 2015. Progress towards these targets has been stalled: at the current rate, there will be more children out of school in 2015 than there are today.
In 2010, GCE ran the 1GOAL campaign, bringing the issue of education to the public by working with the football world during the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the first ever held on African soil. Over 18 million people took action – and another $5 billion of aid to education was achieved which could mean 4 million more children get access to primary education.
