What's happening in 2008:

In North Makulu, Save the Children has facilitated the creation of a wish list  by 1 500 children to state what in their own words constitutes quality education.  The list is expected to be handed over to politicians during the World’s Biggest Lesson on the 23rd of April. Government officials including the Head of the District of Bacan have confirmed participation in the world’s biggest lesson. A oworkshop on life skills haas also been organized to follow after the world’s biggest lesson.

What happened in 2007?

A series of advocacy activities were carried out in Jakarta, Malang, Kupang and Musi Banyuasi District to raise public awareness and support for the Education for All goals. There were colourful parades of students and teachers who carried placards demanding education, and performed sketches demanding Education for All to education officials and politicians.  Round table discussions between university lecturers, students and education policy makers, discussed the Right to Education. Throughout the week children were central to the activities and were encouraged to take part, have fun and express their opinions about education.
