BROKEN PROMISES:  ON THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD
In Africa today over 40 million children are living with the consequences of broken promises - the promise of being able to go to school.   Two thirds of all children in Africa will not complete five years of education.

GCE PUTS THE WRITING ON THE WALL IN SOWETO:  THE STRUGGLE FOR EDUCATION CONTINUES!
A mural has been painted that depicts children struggle for equal education 30 years ago and still today. Visible to the thousands who pass the building every day, this mural goes further than just commemorating the lives of children who campaigned for equal education 30 years ago.   In stark contrast with other commemorations being held today, this will be a reminder that the struggle to give every child a relevant, quality education continues.
