The World's Biggest Lesson took place in all the major regions of Niger. The National event took place in Niamey and was attended by politicians, teachers, parents, pupils and civil society activists.

The traditional sport of wrestling will be used to mobilize campaigners and raise awareness in Niger.  Focusing on disabled people the wresting matches will give messages the importance of education for all, no matter their ability, the importance of education for poverty reduction, and will ask the question how quality education can be improved in Niger.

What happened in 2007?

The whole country was a buzz of activity during Action Week. Officials went back to formal and non-formal schools, debated education on TV, and a massive chain reaction took place in the Général Seyni Kountché Stadium, involving a thousand pupils. Students enjoyed the music from popular rap group Kaîdan Gaskya and the amazing singer Hadiza Mangou, as they handed their messages hand to hand along the chain to the Minister of Education and the Ambassador of France. The messages described the violations of Education Rights and demands to correct these wrongs.
