What's happening in 2008:
In Sudan there will be activities in Khartoum, and there other states including white Nile, South and North Darfur, El Gadarif. There will be a big exhibition taking place at UNESCO as well as seminars and media conferences. The seminars will centre around children who have been excluded from school as well as the quality of education. There will be a media forum on girls education on the 26th of April and on the last day, the Vice President is expected to attend a reception forum for decision makers to discuss among others, issues of education financing as well as the role of the private sector. Those involved are UNICEF, UNESCO, Oxfam GB, SC alliance , other civil society organisations and the Ministry of education.
Five locations in Khartoum are being chosen where decision makers will meet and listen to children and adults about the situation in schools. In El Dain the focus will be on the pastoral community whereas in El Genena the lesson will focus on the internally displaced people accessing education will be the focus. In South Kurdufan Kadugly there will be a registration campaign for girls and to raise awareness on the importance education. Other activities during the week will be maximising media attention to the events, an exhibition, and workshops on quality education.

What happened in 2007?
A number of activities were organized and carried out by civil society organizations, including a series of workshops. The first workshop took place at the Parliament and reflected the situation of education in Sudan and the political commitment and policies for education. The second workshop was entitled 'Commitment and Obligation for Quality Education' and highlighted problems of teachers, adult education, the curriculum, girls' education and financing of education. On the last day of Action Week SENFA coordinated an exhibition on HIV/AIDS and EFA, that included some of the recommendations from the workshops and the need for the government to increase national spending on education.
